***Workshop: Singing Tango***
We invite you to explore the world of tango singing in this engaging workshop with singer Iriel Kaufman. This is a wonderful opportunity to delve into expressive and technical resources while learning to sing a tango together in a supportive group environment.
Additionally, participants are encouraged – if they wish – to bring along a tango they’ve started singing, as you’ll receive constructive feedback that can enhance your skills and benefit the entire group.
No prior experience is necessary—just come as you are and enjoy the journey. We look forward to sharing this experience with you!
Spaces for the workshop are limited and you can already buy your ticket here: https://www.eventbrite.com/…/singing-tango-a-workshop…
***Iriel Kaufman***
Iriel Kaufman will give the workshop and give a live performance at the milonga, accompanied by guitar player Laico Ruiz Dominguez.
Iriel arrives in Berlin from Buenos Aires on her second solo tour of Europe. The singer of “La Empoderada Orquesta AtĂpica” and “Rivage Tango” is sharing her repertoire of Argentine tangos across Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, and Belgium this year. Originally from Buenos Aires, Iriel studies tango singing at the Popular Music School of Avellaneda. With her powerful and expressive voice, she creates a deep connection with her audience. As part of the tango orchestra “La Empoderada Orquesta AtĂpica”, the first tango orchestra of wxmen (flinta*), she highlights contemporary tangos by women of the 21st century.
***DJ Maria August***
Marias DJ sets are known for their thoughtful tandas, alternating between the nostalgic comfort of the Golden Age and the lively interpretations offered by contemporary orchestras, all while maintaining a danceable shape. Maria incorporates mostly acoustic cortinas from various genres to round off the night. Her commitment to fostering an inclusive and joyful atmosphere makes the event memorable for dancers of all levels.
